PARIS, June 1 — Celebrations in Paris turned deadly last night after Paris Saint-Germain clinched the Uefa Champions League title with a 5–0 thrashing of Inter Milan.

While tens of thousands of fans took to the streets in jubilation, the night ended in tragedy with two deaths and at least 192 injuries reported. No further details were released on the severity of those injuries

According to French media reports, a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed, and a 20-year-old woman died after being struck by a car while riding a moped, according to local authorities.

The violence erupted amid widespread celebrations, with large crowds gathering at hotspots including the Champs-Élysées and the Parc des Princes, where around 48,000 supporters had earlier watched the final on giant screens.

Despite initial reports of a mostly festive atmosphere, police said clashes broke out in several locations, prompting a heavy security response.

A total of 559 arrests were made as authorities tried to regain control during the night.
